TONIGHT!

Miss Erica

Is anyone else having issue with the caliber of shows being presented recently?

Maybe my expectations are a bit too high, but if I am going to pay my hard earned cash to go see a show, I expect the bill to be somewhat cohesive.

For example, there is no way in hell I am going to pay to see Slipknot with Coheed and Cambria as a supporting act. Who the fuck thought that was a brilliant idea?

Or the Music as a Weapon tour, with Disturbed, Lacuna Coil, Killswitch Engage, and Chimaira - this one is a bit better, but still reaching as far as the bill combination and the local station didn't even give Chimaira any love when announcing this show. They would be the ones I would want to check out on this bill too, but am I going to pay to see them on this bill when I could probably see a better show if they headline? No...

I guess I am just a little disappointed at the shit that is being shoveled at fans, it's like no one takes pride in putting together a good show anymore.

Miss Erica,
I couldn't agree more. I believe (and I am going to quote WORLDFAST here) "..that it all boils down to the bottom line. Money. Power. Greed."
Not only do these 'Production' folks not take pride in what they put forth, they put no time or effort into it either.
Perhaps RPM Bands could show them how it's done. I am willing to wager that they could. The peolpe involved with this site (you included, my dear) obviously CARE about music and the people that create it.
Sorry to hear that Chimaira didn't get any love. I get requests for them all the time and play them regularly. Someone should contact your station and give them the heads up.
I can't believe that some radio stations don't have a clue as to what's really Hot and Happening in their community. That is a whole other can of worms; One that I don't wish to open.

People are just interested in money. I just saw Rotting Christ and they didn't play with any other black metal bands.

I think the labels are to blame. I'm pretty sure they just want to get the kids who listen to metal to go along with their emo or rocker fashion statement, to come out to the shows. They figure, if we can't get a lot of death metalheads, power metalheads or even metalheads in general, we'll throw in a band that people who listen to other genres will come see so that there's more $$$$$ for us.
