answering you qeustion - its becuase MTV SUCKS BIG ASS DICK and if they ever realy knew what the fuck HEAVY METAL was - its due to the fact that mega death and metallica showed them the way - but heres the fuckn kicker lmao... aFTER THOSE TWO FUCKn HARD CARE moterh fuckN bands they got lost in the line up do to industry fuckN retards whom to over the MTV control room and didnt know what the fuck METAL was!! here comes fuckN poison - ratt - every rose has a thorn - bon jovi - and every other no metal act placed into the metal lineup of MTV commercail BULLSHIT!! can i make my self clearer lmao... in my drunkN rant.... What about telling all the majors to go suck a big horse dick and going total DIY?

With today's tech you can do anything they can do if not better. The upside is you get special attention because you're handling things yourself, instead of being a flavor of the month.

I talked to a few label buddies about these issues and they agree concerning large national and international tours. They all said the same thing when I asked if you had to be a label band to participate. The reply I get back every time is - no.

It's all sub-contractors now.

Another idea to think about too is, if you're signed to a major label you get maybe 25,000 to 50,000 to sign on. Here is the real kicker - that's all you get! So if you sell out auditoriums and your CD and merch go off the charts. You're never going to see a dime of it. If you do the math, that means you're gonna make about an average pay of someone working at a 7-11 chiming cash registers for at least the first 3 or 4 years being with said labels.
